Earlier this year

Here are a couple pieces from my iMac I did this year, 2006.
One is a pattern of circles with a very specifically chosen series of colors.
In a sense it is Optical art. But more of a color study and graphic design.

I plan on painting a table top with the OP art design.

The bird painting was an experiment to see if I could paint a bird out of my head and more palette explorations.

Aguilera Painting

Long boring day yesterday. But as I wrapped up to go home I whipped out this painting of Christina Aguilera from a entertainment news photo.

Not huge fan. But thought the pose and the photo was VERY Hollywood.
I make another attempt today in more of a pastel palette.

The Good Girl

This past winter I started my BFA in painting and drawing. I've only taken one class, 3D Design, but I'm on my way. I had a great time in that class making scuptures from all kinds of things. Some of the pieces are already on my web site.

But I've been getting some time in painting some canvas I had stretched a few years ago. This one is actually my first finished painting on canvas. I've always been a Picaso fan. But recently I discovered what's being called Neo Pop Cubism. Not sure this one is quite there. But I really just winged this composition.

This summer I hope to spend as much time as possible painting.

This piece is called "The Good Girl" and was completed June 4, 2006.

Getting Started

This is my first blog on blogger.com

I will post my ever flowing art and art ideas here to share.
But, there could be anything posted along with it. It will depend on my day.

I need a daily outlet to express myself and hopefully this will do it for me.
